The Swaddling Cloths Ornament
This season, my heart kept being moved by the humility of our savior and King, coming as a vulnerable infant, wrapped in cloth, knowing that he will once again be wrapped in cloth after dying for me.
I kept thinking of Mary, carefully preparing and decorating the swaddle for the birth of her miracle child; always treasuring in her heart the promise of God over her son.
I wept, full of gratitude for her childlike faith and curiosity, and for His humble beginning to his eternal reign.
The ornaments:
Each cloth like ornament is designed to create a pause in this busy holiday season, to medatate on the humility, sacrifice, and love of our King Jesus. They are also a reminder of the “new robe” we receive with his salvation. (Highly recommend studying the symbolism of cloth/clothes in the Bible)
No ornament is the same. Each carrying its own unique fabric fold pattern.
The cotton velvet ribbons, in sage or crimson, represent the blood and water that flowed from His side on the Cross. The confirmation of his death, and our salvation.
My prayer is that you are able to receive and meditate on the hope each ornament represents this Christmas.
